Following Kraft Lawrence (<em>Spice</em>) an experienced travelling merchant and his sharp-tongued 600-year-old pagan deity companion Holo (<em>Wolf</em>) on their journey to return to <em>Yoitsu</em>, Holo's home in the north. A tender relationship has blossomed between the characters, as they make deals, travel between cities, encounter religious fanatics, overcoming the daily toils of a travelling merchant.
